FALL’S FASHION TOP COAT

By November 7, 2010No Comments

Choices await one looking for a top coat this fall.

First, one has to decide if a full length or 3/4 length is preferred.  The former is typically 48″ long and may be single or double breasted.

Another choice is collar type.  The above topcoats feature a “notch” on the single breasted and a “peak” on the double breasted.

Another very popular style is the “bal collar” shown below.  It’s benefit is that it buttons to the top and provides a little more warmth.

Finally, this season’s most popular style is the 3/4 length top coat or “car coat”.   This coat is typically 40″ long or approximately 8″ longer than one’s suit jacket.

The above car coat is perfect with a pair of jeans as above or over a business suit.  This style is Fall 2011’s # 1 fashion style.

The #1 color remains black.  Camel as shown in DB above or vicuna (darker camel) offer interesting alternatives to one who wants to try something a little different.  The car coat above is a beautiful char-brown,  which seems to be “go-to” fashion color this season as well.  Add a small herringbone pattern to a char-brown for a unique option.
