NYC Fashion Shows Were Great!

Entrance to MRKET Designer Shows

This year’s Spring, 2012 Buying Shows were great!  I attended MRKET, sponsored by MR Magazine, as well as ENK’s Tunnel, and, of course, my custom manufacturer’s Dealer Update.

On the custom side of my business, this season the looks are a return to elegant sophistication.  Simple solids,  stripes, boxes in luxurious fabrications at every price point.  We will even have, for example, a value-priced flannel line to help combat those frigid temps of last year in the Northeast!

Look for more detailed discussions on Fall, 2011’s fashion looks in the future.

On the casual side of things, with which my friends at ENK do a superb job, dark indigo, black, and charcoal jeans were the norm.  Alberto’s jeans are still my favorite for adult men 25 and older.  They just fit the best!  Slightly lower rise, trim profile, great fabrics, reasonably priced.

Slimmer knit ties to complement more preppy shirtings were seen often.  The more popular casual shirt was brightly colored and trimmed from numerous sources.  Sport coats were “tricked out” with contrasting button hole thread and bold linings.

Cardigan sweaters seem to be gaining again in popularity…although we’ll have to wait and see if the buying public agrees with this fashion recommendation.

Had a great meal at Da Silvano’s, lower 6th Avenue’s popular authentic Italian culinary masterpiece.

That’s it for now.

Looking forward to providing glimpses of Fall’s favorite colors, styles, and more…but let’s get through this hot summer, first!
