Spring Fashion Tips From The Style Leader

By March 8, 2015No Comments

Over the next month, I’d like to share with you tips from NYC’s Fadhion Week, translating runway concepts into usable wardrobe options for everyday wear.

Today, let’s talk about what color suit to consider for your aspring wardrobe update.  This week I spent a day walking Fifth and Madison Avenues and visited a few of the more fashion-forward designer stores from Armani, to Varvatos to all in between.  What I saw was every shade of blue and medium gray tones.  We’ll discuss styling in subsequent posts.

GQ did a recent article on Suits of Spring and pretty much nailed it.  Here GQ features a medium blue sharkskin suit set off by a bold, fresh plaid tie and bourbon toned bluchers.  All shades of blue are in.

“Shades of Gray” is a term getting lots of play this year!  Nothing showcases this season’s gray solids better than this GQ photo montage of Cary Grant!  Sharkskin fabric options are where the action is.

Gray and navy shades of glen plaids are a refreshing alternative this season.  Slum Dog Millionaire’s Dev Patel rocks in this new muted plaid….muted according to GQ.  I think this works for many, but more subtle glen plaids will work better for most.

Navy has returned as the new black!  Justin shows how it’s done in a 3-piece.

Props to GQ for choosing some great suits to showcase for Spring.  Look for similar upcoming posts that discuss fit options and sport coat guidance. #customclothing #custumsuits #finalfour #marchmadness #thestyleleader
